Be You Not a Pageant Queen

When girls are competing in pageantry they often try to pick out gowns, select talents and answer questions like a pageant queen or should I say the sterotypical pageant queen. However, keep this in mind, if you are a state or local titleholder you have to put forth an image of beauty but, how is beauty defined?

To me the most beautiful women in the world are those who can stand confidently enough to voice their opinions and who can say I am sorry when they are wrong, who know their qualities, has goals and encourage those who are down. To meĀ  pretty is physical but beauty is character. I have meet pretty women who I have found to be ugly and less attractive women whom I later found to be adorable. But, that is me and your definition will be different as will the judges therefore your only safe bet is to be you because you never really know what they are looking for.

Beauty Defined

In short beauty is the true you, genuinely expressed. If you are a southern bell do not try to act like a yankee, if you are black love your curvy hips even if you are competing against white girl standards, and if you have a different style than what traditional pagent queens have embraced in the past then wear that style with pride.

Be you and never apologize for that.
