The Power of Beauty

beautiful, beauty, beauty pageant, most beautiful woman in the world

Have you ever wondered why you are so concerned about how you look?  Why you aim to look like the beautiful women you see on the television and in magazines?  That ís because beauty is power!

Even way back into ancient times women were concerned about their looks.  Think of Nefertiti or Joan of Ark who were known as the most beautiful women of their times. Joan of Ark was so beautiful that thousands of men sacrificed their lives in battle because of her influence.

The cosmetic industry is well aware of this and that women will go to great lengths to look beautiful.  That ís why the cosmetic industry is a multi-billion dollar industry.

When you think of beauty you think of what you see on the outside.  But beauty is more than skin deep.  And beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder!  What one may find beautiful another may not.  Even though there is no such thing as a definition for universal beauty all women know how to instinctually use their beauty to their advantage.

Men Vs Beauty

Men, myself included, fall for this manipulation constantly. (And I grew up with 5 sisters and no brothers!) In fact we seldom know we have been snared into the web because of a woman’s beauty.  It is more obvious when exterior beauty is mesmerizing us but it is the internal beauty that we for the most part have no idea when it is working on us.  That pouty mouth, those sparkling eyes, that gentle laugh, and that natural sensuality.

It ís a proven fact men are unable to release themselves from the beauty of women.  A quick look, a wink, a big inviting smile, a relaxed posture are all indications that a man has succumbed to beauty.  Studies have shown even the smartest men go stupid when entranced by the beauty of a woman. I regret to admit that I have often stumbled for the words to say when I find myself overwhelmed by a woman’s beauty. It’s embarrassing…but true.

Remember Sophia Loren, Jane Collins, or Jaqueline Bisset.  Think about Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, Madona, Marilyn Monroe.  Their beauty had an instant effect on the male population.  Not only their exterior beauty but the deeper inner beauty of confidence and mystique that surrounded them.

These women were all show stoppers without even trying.  In fact when asked they felt their features were flawed, but us men didn’t see it that way.  And yet each of these women were totally different in looks and personality.  But each brought a certain group of men to their feet or to their knees. Each had the ability to take the smartest man and turn him into a walking talking zombie stuttering, and staring. (Painfully true)

What is Beauty

Remember a beautiful woman is more than the exterior shell.  Beauty is the whole woman.  Personality, charm, seductive sexuality, a smile, or a stance.  There are many elements to a womens beauty than capture a mans attention and lock him into a world of bliss.

There is no cure for the poor male population, no pill to pop, no treatment to make them free of the power of a beautiful women.  There are no magic bullets to stop the bite of beauty from turning the male population into a drooling idiot or a walking talking zombie.  Your beauty unfortunately for me…is a powerful weapon. Sorry guys!

How to Keep Your Boyfriend Happy During Your Pageant Reign

katie stam boyfriend, brian irk, katie stam, miss america boyfriend

So I decided to do a little write up on Katie Stam’s boyfriend, Brian Irk. According to the Lux Life Blog Exclusive interview with Katie:

“…Brian Irk, who was born in LaPorte and now lives in Indianapolis. He and Katie have been dating for three years. I asked him about the year ahead. “I will wait the year out patiently. It is only one year in a lifetime. I wanted her to win this. She has my full support. I know I’ll be doing a lot of flying so I can intercept her during her free moments in faraway places, so we will have plenty of reunions together over the year. I’m very close with her parents, so I’ll also be spending a lot of time with them.”

So why did I decide to do a write up on Katie Stam’s boyfriend, Brian Irk? Well, I have a soft spot for the boyfriends of pageant queens being the former boyfriend of Chasity Hardman, first runner up to Miss America. Chasity and I got to meet Brian when he came over to congratulate Chasity following the crowning of Katie Stam. He seemed like a real supportive guy and was really genuine.

If you are a state title holder or a local title holder and you have a Brian in your life you need to know a couple of things about your man in order to maintain a successful and healthy relationship throughout your reign:

  1. Men are simple. I have told the 3 girls that I dated that I am really simple. I am like Jesus, if you feed my ego, I will never leave you or forsake you. Men desire honor like women desire love. That is why the Bible says, “Women honor your husband” and “Men love your wife like Christ loved the church.” Praise a man in public and feed his ego and he won’t go anywhere.
  2. Men are jealous. If your man is not jealous then he is not completely in love with you. Not the psycho I am going to stalk you type of jealousy but the I want to know that I am the apple of your eye, God type of jealousy. If you compliment other men that is fine but do not compliment others more than you do your man. It causes trouble.
  3. Men don’t mind your success. In fact your success is a crowning jewel in your king’s crown. (Every man wants to date a Miss America.) I have heard this over and over again that only certain men can handle a successful woman. And for a little while I almost fell into that trap. What I found is that men don’t mind your success as long as he is getting what he needs. If his love language is being fed then you can be as successful as you want. Look at Joyce Meyer, she never gets on stage without honoring her husband, Dave. You would think that man walked on water. The result? He helps her become a greater success. He gets honor, she gets love. Simple.
  4. We are men. Meaning we don’t get everything right and have trouble processing our emotions. Be patient in his frustration and help him process…in love. When have you ever known a guy to get anything right all the time?

As a pageant boyfriend these are some of the things that I have discovered. These 4 guidelines will enable you to experience joy in your relationship as you are pursuing both the crown and love.
