A great interview requires an equal balance of 3 key attributes – Picture, Comfort, and Content.

  1. Picture – First, do you present an image that is consistent with the organization and the particular position being filled? Study after study shows that first impressions play a huge role in how others perceive your capabilities.
  2. Comfort – “Comfort” means that you are comfortable in your own skin and comfortable discussing your suitability for the job. You must also make the interviewer comfortable that you are someone others will want to meet and work with after you get the job. After a series of interviews, the interviewers will remember a small percentage of what you actually said, but 100% of how they felt about you during your time together.
  3. Content – The content of your interview must impress the panel. You must eloquently discuss current events, your personal characteristics, your prior life & work experience, and how those attributes fit the organization and the position you’re after.
