How to Deal with Pageant Stress

You wake up…half exhausted from yesterday’s routine of working out, going to class, working a part-time job, doing an appearance, going dress shopping, talking with image consultants, working with pageant coaches all while trying to talk to your boyfriend who is feeling neglected because you are time starved…oh and you have the same schedule today.

How do you manage all of this stuff and still deal with a no carb diet? I don’t know.

The end.

No, I am just kidding. But, really dealing with the stress of pageantry is overwhelming. But, there is a way to deal with stress. You have to manage it. The main reason why pageant queens are stressed is due to improper planning or should I say no planning. You heard of the saying, “If you do not have a plan then you plan to fail.” So true.

If you do not have a plan for dealing with your pageant stress I am going to give you one. And yes…if you want to reduce your pageant stress then you are going to have to use my plan, that is if you do not have one. Use mine until you can discover what works best for you. Then develop your own plan.

Here is your 3 step plan to Less Pageant Stress:

  1. Write a To Do List – Get a pen and paper and write out everything that you have to do for the following day BEFORE you go to bed. Studies have shown that if you write a to do list prior to going to sleep that your subconscious mind begins to devise a plan to make what you put on paper happen in your life.
  2. Chronological Order – If you did not do so in step one…rewrite your list in chronological order. It helps…because tomorrow when you are looking at your sheet all you have to do is go straight down the list.
  3. Time Frames – Place realistic time frames on the activities that you have planned.

That’s it. Planning is simple. Being disciplined enough to follow through with your plan is another story. Try writing out a to do list for a couple of days and then I double dog dare you to go back to the old stressful life.
