Pageant coach, Bill Alverson, says that if you want to be successful in pageantry you have got to have a streaming theme throughout your presentation. From the color of your makeup to what you wear, sing, play or dance to, through how you interview, walk, and what your paperwork says needs to follow this theme in order to make you memorable. In business this is known as marketing and in the business of pageantry you are the product. Are you consistently marketing the same image?
Are You Presenting a Consistent Image
Does your style and paperwork say I am a southern bell but for your talent selection are you singing a classical or jazz piece? Do you present yourself as a conservative Christian yet answer questions liberally and then wear a risky walk on? Think about yourself as you would Starbucks, or Apple. Starbucks does not sell computers and Apple does not sell coffee however the two brands compliment each other perfectly. If you go into any Starbucks you will see someone in there with a Mac. If you go into Apple you will in-evidently see someone in there with a cup of Starbucks. In fact I heard one of my friends say that he went into a Starbucks without his PC and felt like the Mac police was going to get him.
Here’s my point. Stick to your brand but present that brand to the pageant and the perceived beliefs of the judges in such a way as to invite them into your image. If you are a high fashion type of girl then be high fashion while inviting them to take part in your world of glamour. If you are more of a country girl than that is fine also as long as you are being true to who you are and are consistently presenting the same image.














I agree! It can be very distracting watching a girl present several different images. You begin to forget the girl because you think of her as a different contestant.
