The following was an interview with the Miss North Florida US International Director Tracy Gray.

Steven: How do Miss US International and Miss Teen World differ from Miss USA?

Tracy Gray: Miss US International and Teen World pageants are very similar and in fact were sister pageants for many years. Actually, in the past the Miss USA First Runner up was chosen to compete in Miss World. On an international scale Miss International is as well known as Miss Universe but here in America Donald Trump does a very good job marketing his pageant.

Though the categories and requirements to compete in the Miss International pageant are similar the scoring is a bit different as we use a 1-10 scoring system, where USA judges chose their top three picks per category.

Steven: How do Miss US International and Miss Teen World differ from Miss America?

Tracy Gray: Miss America requires a talent. Miss US International does not. So, if you can’t sing or play an instrument, you can still win. This is great, as many high quality girls just don’t have the sort of entertainment talents that are required to successfully compete in the Miss America pageant. Miss US International and Teen World respects that there are many abilities and qualities outside of entertaining make a great role model; therefore we concentrate our judge’s efforts on these aspects of competition.

Steven: Who was your most famous contestant?

Tracy Gray: I would say Wonder Woman, Linda Carter, who was a Miss World contestant.

Miss US International and Teen World Delegates are considered International Ambassadors of Beauty and experience many open doors of opportunity. Preliminaries are already accepting applications for 2010.
