Talia Markham was crowned Miss West Virginia 2009. Talia Markham competed in the Miss West Virginia pageant as Miss Capital City and will be competing for the Miss America crown in January out in Las Vegas.

Other winners in the Miss West Virginia pageant included: first runner up Miss Potamic Highlands Courtney Nelson; second runner up Miss Eastern Panhandle Megan Otte; third runner up Miss Tucker County Nicole Riggleman; and fourth runner up Miss Berkeley County Amber Miller.
