Motivation is important in life. Whether you are competing in your first pageant or you are a veteran in the industry, keeping your spirits and optimism at an all-time high is the key to winning your next pageant. (Read: Pageant Question of the Day: Pageant Motivation)
First, you need to lay out your pageant goals. What is going to make this year different? How are you going to step your game up for this season? Results will only come by when you do something different, whether it be increasing your workout routines to become more disciplined or practicing your talent for hours. Make this round of competition your best!
Second, understand your “why” factor. Why is it that you want to succeed? What is making you come back to compete? Is it a strong desire to bring awareness to your platform? Is your goal to inspire others? Or are you using pageantry to bounce into a career in entertainment?
Any explanation is perfect as long as it is genuine and true to you. Be true to yourself and write down your “why” so you do not forget what is driving you forward.
During the pageant competition, you may have long days with little rest in between, especially if you are heading to nationals. Be prepared for the road ahead. One thing that hurts a lot of women is that they are worn out by the time finals night arrives after being in the host city for days or weeks. (Read: How to Keep Going After Nationals Are Over)
This is common, and this is when knowing your “why” and having a handful of motivational quotes comes in handy. They will help to push you during those final hours when your feet hurt, the hair spray is almost becoming permanent, and you can sing the opening number music because it has been on repeat during those rehearsals.
Here are a few of our favorite motivational quotes to help you keep pushing through.
