I am well aware that it is April and there is still eight months until Christmas. But Pentatonix, “Mary, Did You Know” is playing on my Spotify as I write this article so you can Bah Humbug to yourself all you want because I am very excited to announce that there is a Christmas themed pageant coming to the United Kingdom in 2017!

The Story

Miss Christmas UK is brought to us by Hope Entertainment.

Hope Entertainment believes in positive competition with good health, confidence and overall achievement for all contestants.

The pageant is designed to celebrate beauty, talent and achievement of ladies aged 16-27 as of October 31, 2017 in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

“Our mission is to demonstrate the true meaning of Christmas by inspiring others through exceptional help and guidance from Miss Christmas UK, whilst helping them to achieve their goals and dreams,” said Hope Entertainment. “We are a pageant of ethics and we put smiles on people’s faces!”

The Competition

Just like Buddy the Elf said, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” Miss Merry Christmas UK has a talent competition to do just that. (Read: Should You Perform a Traditional or Nontraditional Talent?)

“The pageant will consist of a talent section where contestants will perform a three minute Christmas talent of their choice in the form of a story, a song, a dance or an act,” explained Hope Entertainment. “This is all in a bid to show and teach others about the true meaning of Christmas.”

The festive fun doesn’t stop there. What do you do with your Christmas wrapping paper after you have opened your gifts? Where do all of your ribbons and bows wind up? (Shop: Pageant Essentials)

In a Duct Tape Prom/Ugly Sweater/Project Runway Challenge inspired area of competition, your wrappings could turn into something pageant worthy.

“There will also be a challenge for the contestants to design a dress/product of their choice using organic/recycled materials in support of saving the planet,” said Hope Entertainment. “These products will be displayed and judged.”
