Iris Mittenaere Is Living The Life In NYC

From the month long competition, to bringing the Miss Universe crown to France, and now living in a new home in America, all of these experiences have been very surreal for the 23 year old Iris Mittenaere. It has all been too much to take in, she described when asked about how she felt now as the new Miss Universe.

Hollywood Life got an exclusive interview with our new queen while she was on her first few days in the state of New York. In her first week, Mittenaere admitted to have fallen in love with the city. The place reminded her so much of her home. Both countries have a lot of history and in fact, share one together.

Living the life in NYC is just like how she saw it in the movies, Mittenaere said. People love to eat hotdogs on the streets full with yellow taxis. She did the same things she imagined French people will do in one of the biggest cities in the world. Hotdogs are officially her favourite.

When asked about how her family is holding up, Mittenaere shares that her mom is the most anxious to see her leave home. Her mom feels afraid, like any mother should be, to live far away from her daughter. Iris is positive though that everything and everyone is going to be okay. “It’s only 6 hours or 7 by plane,” she added.

Graduating from dental school remains to be her top priority. Her passion in promoting dental health in a global scale is evident in her current volunteer work with a dental organization. She wants to be a dental surgeon who can change the lives of children, especially the less fortunate. (Read: Miss Universe Iris Mittenaere Shares Passion In Cooking And Dentistry In GMA)

Apart from her plans to continue to promote good dental hygiene, she also wants to become the voice of children and women. Furthermore, she aims to promote her country, France, to the whole world.

Former Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach, has left her some excellent advice as she begins her new reign. To be relaxed is to exude confidence and beauty. Mittenaere shares she didn’t really expect to win in the first place so this feels like just a bonus and she will definitely enjoy the experience to its fullest.
