So many former titleholders refer to themselves as “has beens” after their reign is over. One soon-to-be former queen is working to ensure she will never be a “has been.”
About Catriona Gray
Last year Catriona Gray won Miss World Philippines 2016 and has had a successful reign thus far. Aside from dedicating her time to her platform, she represented the Philippines well on the Miss World Stage in the United States in December of last year. She took back a Top 5 spot as she placed 3rd Runner-up on finals night. (Read: Major Changes for Miss World Philippines Pageant)
Now that her reign will come to an end in just a few short months, she has turned her attention once again to her charity work and to her future music career. Gray has been arranging singing engagements abroad and in the Philippines to launch her career after the crown. (Read: 2 Questions You Must Ask Yourself to Succeed in Pageantry)
She says that she wants to, “rediscover [her] passion and pursue that again. And yeah, other artistic endeavors because [she is] a very creative person and that’s where [she is] happiest.” She also said that she has not really devoted any time to her music during her reign because she was focused on her duties as a titleholder.
More about her future
Gray plans to continue her work with her charity, the Paraiso Bright Beginnings Project, which helps to repair and build schools in the Philippines. She has also had the opportunity to partner with groups such as Young Focus and Fire Tree Asia to accomplish this goal. She has worked hard to repair many schools with her platform throughout her year. (Read: How to Promote Your Platform Through Community Service)
She is also looking forward to getting back into modeling again because she missed the industry while she was fulfilling her role as a queen. We are excited to see where this queen, with a love for her country, is headed after her reign ends!
