Pageant Question About Visiting Your City
Today’s Pageant Question of the Day is: If I visited your city, where would you take me?
Why this question was asked: This is a good “get to know you” question and shows the judges you can think on your feet.
This is how some of our Instagram followers answered the question:
Haley (haleyy_14205): I would take you to a local theatre production! Where I live, we have a surprisingly large performing arts community for such a small town and lots of local talent. Having been active in this community for 13 years, I am familiar with many members of local productions and know just how close it brings the people of Cumberland together. It’s vital to support the arts, and in a town with such a tightly-knit community of talented people, our local productions are definitely the highlight of my city.
Christina (christinadebacker): I’m from Winona, Minnesota, and if you visited my city I’d take you to the WSU campus because it is so beautiful and welcoming. I’d also take you to the overlook in the bluffs because you’d have an amazing view of the Mississippi River and the whole city of Winona. There are also some upscale fashion boutiques that we couldn’t miss!
Abbigail (triple_threat1507): I would start the day off with the best coffee in the country at our local coffee shop, The Jackson Coffee Company. After, I would show you our historical Michigan Theatre right downtown and to end the night, we would see a beautiful light show in front of the Cascade Falls, one of Jackson’s must-see places.
Farrah (farrah__mm): I live in Miramichi, New Brunswick, and I would take you to a park called French Fort Cove. It has amazing paths to walk all year round, but you might need a pair of snowshoes this time of year. The park has a local legend called the headless nun and a very rich history it is one of the many locations where French Acadians hid when the English started deporting them. It is very important to me to spread the story of Acadians because it isn’t very well known. A lot of the time people think that the only French speakers in Canada are from Quebec which is false. I love when I get the chance to help educate people about the story of where I come from as an Acadian!
Arianna (staianoarianna): If you were to visit my city of Greeley, Colorado, I would take you downtown to our locally owned businesses. We start the day by going to Café Panache, a french style restaurant, then Glenmere park, my personal favorite of Greeley’s 30 parks. After that we can go to one of my sponsors, 11 Salon, where we can get massages and our hair and nails done. For dinner we would to Café Mexicali which has some of the best Mexican food I have ever tasted! After dinner we could go to the Union Colony Civic Center and watch a play or a concert, or if it’s October, we could watch Miss Colorado USA!
Sydney (sydneyygrace_): If you came and visited me in Texarkana, Texas, I would take you to a restaurant named Zapatas. They have the best Tex-Mex food I’ve ever had. The people are very polite and welcoming and the place is very cute and entertaining.
Our favorite answer:
Faith (faithalyssa27): Plant City’s annual Florida Strawberry Festival! A family affair occurring the first two weeks of every March, the strawberry festival is the richest part of my city’s heritage. People from all across the world visit every year – I once met a woman who came all the way from Canada! From prestigious country artists like Willie Nelson, to Parksdale’s famous shortcake, the festival is guaranteed to bring joy to anyone and everyone.
The judges would like this answer best because of the appealing wording, as well as the fact that she chose an event unique to her specific town. (Read: Pageant Question About Your Favorite Person From Your State)
