Pageant Question About What Book You Want to Read Next
Today’s Pageant Question of the Day is: What book do you want to read next?
Why this question was asked: This shows you can think of an answer on the spot and tells the judges a little bit about your personality and interests.
This is how some of our Instagram followers answered the question:
Rebecca (misscarboncounty_wy): After watching “13 Reasons Why,” I’d love to read it. I want to see the similarities between the show and the book as well as become more educated on suicide prevention and sexual violence.
Gracie (gracie_mccaskill): I would have to say “I Will Always Write Back” is the book I will read next. This book is all about how two people that live in different countries end up being pen pals, somehow come together and end up being best friends. I believe that people need to read this book because they need to see no matter what shape, size, color, race, etc., people all over the world can come together to be friends.
Yvannah (yvannahhh): When I have time, which will probably be after I earn my Master’s Degree, I want to read “Pride and Prejudice.” When I was in high school, I was placed in an advanced English class and, therefore, spent more time writing papers rather than reading the classic books that many suggest high school students read before graduation. After graduating from high school, I took it upon myself to start reading those classics that I missed out on. Unfortunately, after I earned my undergraduate degree, I went directly to PA school and no longer have any time to read at my leisure. However, I am excited to finally pick up “Pride and Prejudice” in 2019.
Oriane (orianegolden_): I would say “Zootopia” because it is about a bunny who went and worked hard for everything everyone said she could not have. The bunny never gave up on her dream to become a cop and in the end, she saved Zootopia, became a hero, proved everyone who doubted her wrong and stopped people from being judgmental, which I believe are qualities a pageant queen should have.
Our favorite answer:
Monica (themonicafisher): “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle, a Year of Food Life” by Barbara Kingsolver. Being diagnosed with severe food allergies as a young child, I grew up learning about different foods and how we as humans are what we consume. Living a healthy lifestyle is something I pride myself on and I always crave new information about nutrition and how diet affects our bodies. From different reviews of this book, it seems that the author presents material in a very interesting and easy to understand fashion so I look forward to expanding my knowledge.
The judges would like this answer the best because it is unique and she explains the backstory behind her choice. (Read: Pageant Question About Reading the Book or Seeing the Movie)
