With another month coming and going, that means we get to welcome a new group of ladies into the forever sisterhood of pageantry. Each month, all around the world, hundreds of young ladies, and sometimes men, are crowned. We have narrowed all of those deserving new titleholders into the top 10 crowning moments of August 2017. Top 10 Crowning Moments of August 2017
10. Miss Teen America 2017, Ciana Pelekai
Miss Hawaii Teen America is your new Miss Teen America 2017! She is currently a senior honor student, the team captain of her bowling team and is part of the school choir.
Her platform is entitled “Sing Your Song” and is about having the courage to achieve your goals in life and not give up. In a blog post about her platform, she stated, “My personal life experiences motivated me to create this platform…I want to help empower others to overcome personal challenges and obstacles such as bullying.”
9. World Imperial Beauties Miss 2018, Joane Jeffers
Joane Jeffers is your 2018 World Imperial Beauties Miss 2018! The Imperial Beauties of America pageant focuses on building character, leadership, self-esteem and communication skills while creating fun, exciting memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
8. Miss Intercontinental Australia 2017, Charlotte Allison-Bruce
Charlotte Allison-Bruce from NSW is Miss Intercontinental Australia 2017! She will compete for the title of Miss Intercontinental. She wants to encourage women to leave their marks on the world.
7. Miss All-Star United States 2017, Graci Connor
Graci Connor is your new Miss All-Star United States! She was crowned along with six other divisional winners in Savannah, Georgia. Congratulations, Graci!
6. Miss Teen of Georgia 2017, Kaylie Hunter
Kaylie Hunter, 17, is your Miss Teen Georgia! She will compete in the national pageant in Orlando this November. She will serve as the ambassador for the national pageant platform, Special Olympics.
5. Miss Grand United States 2017, Taylor Kessler
Taylor Kessler from Houston, Texas, won the coveted national title of Miss Grand United States. She will compete at Miss Grand International to be held in October in Vietnam. She is a 21-year-old junior at Sam Houston University with a double major in Multi Platform Journalism and Communication.
4. Miss Global United 2017, Katie Kramer
Katie Kramer is your 2017 Miss Global United. Delegates from all over the world gathered in Minnesota to compete for the coveted title.
3. Royal UK Miss 2017, Abigail Stroud-Mort
Abigail Stroud-Mort represented Lancaster in the Royal UK Miss finals. She was crowned on August 13 and has already judged a national pageant, became a volunteer for Manchester Dog’s Home, and has been interviewed for two blogs!
2. Miss Regency International 2017, Jade Bailey
25-year-old Jade Bailey won the title of Miss Regency International and plans on using her title to promote her platform of self-worth. When she was 18 years old, she competed in a modeling competition where the judges told her to lose weight, which caused her to develop anorexia. In an interview with her local newspaper, she said, “I am glad that what I went through happened as it made me the person I am today. I would not have had this experience to share with the younger generation.”
22-year-old Andreia Gibau, representing the state of Massachusetts, was crowned Miss Earth United States 2017 on Saturday, August 5. She is a former Miss Teen United States and recent graduate of St. John’s University. She will travel to the Phillipines in November to compete in the Miss Earth finals.
