The month of June 2017 was filled with amazing crowning moments all over the world. Miss America and its Outstanding Teen pageant crowned beautiful ladies in at least 16 different states! Several international pageants took place and crowned their country’s representatives for pageants taking place later in the year.

10. Mr. Universe Model 2017, Kevin Montes

Representing Puerto Rico, this 6’5” 22-year-old from San Juan towered above the competition, literally! He’s not all beauty, though! He is currently studying biology with hopes of pursuing a career in that field.
9. Miss US Supranatural 2017, Marlene Mendoza
Marlene Mendoza of New Jersey was crowned Miss US Supranatural 2017 at the Miss US International 2017 pageant. She will now represent the United States at Miss Supranational 2017 in Poland this December! (Read: 5 Inspirational Sash Ceremony Outfits from the Miss Supranational Contestants)
8. Miss World Fiji 2017, Nanise Rainima
Nanise Rainima is a 25-year-old Tailevu beauty who was able to capture the coveted title at the Miss World Fiji finals in Suva. She is a Bachelor of Science graduate from USP and uses that knowledge for her platform of focusing on climate change.
She will represent Fiji at the Miss World 2017 pageant to be held in November.
7. Miss India World 2017, Manushi Chhillar
Hailing from Haryana, Manushi Chillar is 20 years old and studying medicine while making headlines for her platform: Menstrual Hygiene. (Read: Miss India World 2017 Educates on Feminine Hygiene)
In an interview with Zee News, she said, “I feel it is a very basic factor that is inculcated in every woman. I started a project called Project Shakti and through that, I educated women about menstrual hygiene as that’s one cause I really feel for.”
6. Miss World Bodybuilding Champion 2017, Bhumika Sharma
A little different than your regular beauty pageant, the Miss World Bodybuilding Champion competition took place in Venice where 21-year-old Bhumika Sharma from Dehradun became the first Indian to win the title!
She is now preparing fro the Miss Universe Bodybuilding Championship to be held in the UK this December.
5. Miss Iowa 2017, Chelsea Dubczak
Her platform is “Ladies Who Lift: Encouraging young women to pursue their strongest selves” and her talent is opera.
4. Miss Tennessee 2017, Caty Davis
Miss Lexington, Caty Davis, was crowned Miss Tennessee 2017 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center. She is no stranger to the Miss America Organization having competed in the Miss Tennessee’s Outstanding Teen competition previously.
She said that talking to former Miss Tennessee Grace Burgess helped her in this year’s competition.
3. Miss Alabama 2017, Jessica Procter
The 21-year-old senior at the University of Alabama will pause her studies in psychology and interdisciplinary studies to fulfill her duties as Miss Alabama.

She first competed for the local title of Miss OSU in 2016, and decided to give it one literal last shot in 2017 as she would age out. Her hard work paid off, and now her studies will be, too!

Easily one of the largest Miss America state pageants each year, Alyssa Beasley competed with more than 50 hopefuls to capture the title of Miss Georgia 2017. (Read: Miss Georgia Pageant More Diverse Than Ever)
At only 19, she opens up to the local Georgia news about how fate lead her to pageantry.
“I think it just goes to show that no matter what, if you think something is a downfall… I thought my injury was the end of my [gymnastic] career,” Beasley told News 3.
“I wanted to be a UGA Gymdawg. But it just goes to show that God has a bigger plan in store, and you just have to trust in that. It may not be the course you think you’re supposed to be taking right now, but in the long run, it could be something you’re doing. I’m here as Miss Georgia.”
