The pageant, Queen of Dhwayah 2017, was the first pageant for transgender women in India with 15 contestants. The pageant was well received by the country and even had a panel of celebrity judges, including Miss India 2008 and actress Parvathy Omanakuttan.

7. A pageant contestant was charged with assaulting a fellow contender

I am reminded of the Tonya Harding attack on her biggest competition, Nancy Kerrigan at the 1994 Winter Olympics. This time, the altercation took place backstage on May 21 at the Miss Sailfish Regatta Bikini Contest in Florida. Erica Mize, 24, is now facing battery charges as a result of the altercation.

Mize apparently said rude comments to the new girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend. Mize went on to hit the new girlfriend backstage on the back of the head with a high-heeled shoe. Mize had to appear in court on misdemeanor battery charges as a result of the incident while the other young woman did not face any charges. 6. Former Miss Earth Venezuela was attacked

Former Miss Earth Venezuela Osmariel Villalobos got into an altercation with well-known star Diosa Canales at the gym. Although the two sides of the story differ, solving issues with violence is never a good choice, especially for two women already in the spotlight who are looked upon by young girls.

Since the incident happened in the locker room of the gym they both are members of, no one knows for sure who attacked whom.

Osmariel Villalobos was Miss Earth Venezuela in 2011 and went on to represent the country at Miss Earth 2012. To read the account of both parties, read the full story here: Former Miss Earth Venezuela Attacked.
